The Teacher - traditionally understood to be Solomon, the “son of David, king in Jerusalem” - is speaking from his deep experience. He had wealth, power, success, and everything a person could chase, yet he discovered that when the heart clings to money, it never feels like enough. The pursuit becomes endless, restless, and hollow. He’s reminding us that wealth can’t fill the inner spaces only God can satisfy.
