“Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.”

God didn’t rest because He was tired - He rested to set the rhythm for us. He blessed the seventh day to show that rest is holy, something He modelled so we would learn to pause too.
Side notes
In the creation story, the “seventh day” is the day after God finished His creative work - so in the Genesis rhythm:
- Day 1 - Light
- Day 2 - Sky
- Day 3 - Land + vegetation
- Day 4 - Sun, moon, stars
- Day 5 - Birds + sea creatures
- Day 6 - Animals + humanity
- Day 7 - God rests and blesses the day
So the seventh day is simply the day after creation was completed.
The seventh day is God saying: “Stop. Breathe. Remember Me.”
It’s not about Saturday or Sunday - it’s about surrender
